Are international school fees eligible for free tuition?

Regarding free tuition for international schools, currently there is a free tuition policy that applies only to public schools and some private schools in Japan, but there is no clear policy regarding international schools, and they are basically exempt from the free tuition policy.

This situation is due to the fact that international schools are not considered "schools" under Japan's School Education Law, many are privately operated, and their course content and curriculum are based on international standards. For these reasons, international school students must pay their own tuition fees.

However, some international schools may offer scholarships, so we recommend that you check the program of the school of your choice.
